According to the recently published Global Index of Innovation for 2022, Serbia is ranked 55th, however our country leads the region in innovation performance.
"What is critical is that artificial intelligence connects the IT sector to previously unappealing sectors such as mechanical engineering and biological sciences. The use of artificial intelligence generates a need for various domain expertise and allows for the development of goods and services everywhere in the globe", said Dr. Dragisa Miskovic, research associate at the Institute of Artificial Intelligence of Serbia.
The "Human Computer Interface" research group, led by Dr. Miskovic, focuses on all elements of the interaction between humans and machines, i.e. computers.
"It may be claimed that the days of merely using a keyboard and a mouse are long gone. People nowadays connect with computers using sound, video, and other modalities that we as a group aim to cover. One section of the group is concerned with natural language processing, which is essential in that it enables the machine to accurately perceive human speech. So, rather of recognizing it, interpret it, or comprehend what was stated", Dr. Miskovic explains.
