Professor Dr. Elisa Ricci has been appointed as the Institute of Artificial Intelligence of Serbia's Main Science Advisor

Elisa Ricci is an Associate Professor at the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Trento and the head of the research unit Deep Visual Learning at Fondazione Bruno Kessler.

Elisa received her Msc and PhD degree in Electrical and Information Engineering from the University of Perugia. After that, she was a postdoctoral researcher at Idiap Research Institute and at Fondazione Bruno Kessler. In 2011 she was appointed as Assistant Professor at University of Perugia. Since 2018 she is an Associate Professor at the University of Trento. She was also a visiting researcher at the ETH Zurich and University of Bristol.

Elisa’s main research activities are in the area of computer vision, multimedia and robotics. She has published more than 150 papers on international journals or conferences. Elisa Ricci is/was the PI or participated in several national and international projects.

Currently, she is the PI for UNITN/FBK of the following projects: H2020 EU project SPRING, EU ISFP EU project PROTECTOR, MUR project PRIN LEGO-AI. Elisa Ricci has received numerous awards for her scientific activity. She was the recipient of the Best Honorable Mention Award at ICCV 2021, the Best Paper award at ACM MM 2015, etc. Elisa Ricci is a member of the editorial board of six journals: IEEE TMM, Pattern Recognition CVIU, ACM TOMM, IEEE RAL and MMS.

Elisa is/was involved in the organization of several international conferences (PC ACM MM2020, ICIAP 2019). She regularly serves as program committee member and reviewer for the main international conferences and journals in computer vision, multimedia and robotics. She is a Fellow of European Lab for Learning and Intelligent Systems (ELLIS).
