The Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia actively participated in the World Exhibition "Expo 2020 Dubai's" seventh theme week "Health and Care," which was dedicated to health and the promotion of innovations.
"We were members of the Bio4 Campus delegation, a recently founded campus that already operates as a platform. The Bio4 Campus is made up of two colleges, the Faculty of Biology and the Faculty of Pharmacy, as well as other research centers in Serbia, including the Institute for Artificial Intelligence. Biotechnology, bioinformatics, biomedicine, and biodiversity are the four pillars that support the Bio4 idea as a whole. We'll talk about the application of artificial intelligence in biomedicine, as well as bioinformatics. My mission at the Serbian Pavilion in Dubai was to promote the work of the Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia as part of the presentation of the Bio4 Campus", said Dr. Branka Rakić, a Senior Researcher at the Institute for Artificial Intelligence.
During the participation at "Expo 2020," our business delegation visited the Science and Technology Park in Dubai, as well as the Ajman Chamber of Commerce, whose members were very interested in the Bio4 Campus.
"We spoke with officials from many of their faculties as well as pharmaceutical companies. Our goal was to share the idea and information about the Bio4 Campus, as well as to make new connections and network with other scientists. Because the use of artificial intelligence in the field of biological sciences is still in its early stages throughout the world, there is a lot of interest in it. "We joined in time so that we wouldn't fall behind the rest of the world," Dr. Rakić concluded.
The Serbian business delegation included, in addition to the Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia, the Institute for Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering, the Institute for Multidisciplinary Research, INEP, the Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković", the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Biology in Belgrade, and the Faculty of Medicine in Kragujevac, more than 20 professors and scientists, representatives of the Development Agency of Serbia, as well as domestic producers and distributors of medical devices, nutritional supplements, cosmetics, and companies involved in research and innovation in the field of health and rehabilitation centers.
