Dr. Branislav Kisačanin, the Chief Scientist at The Institute for Artificial Intelligence R&D of Serbia, delivered an online lecture about Kepler's laws for the participants of the Winter Physics School in Sokobanja.
Among the guest lecturers were famous academics from Serbian and foreign institutions, as well as well-known scientific promoters.
According to Dr. Kisačanin, promoting of science, technology, engineering, and math among elementary and secondary school students is essential for the future of any economy:
„In today's world, it is hard to be successful in any field without a thorough knowledge of science, technology, engineering, and math.
Their knowledge is essential for finding high-paying jobs in the next ten, twenty years. One does not need to be a visionary to see it! Just look atthe fields of artificial intelligence, and bioinformatics.
Specifically, in 2021, global market for AI-based products was worth around 340 billion dollars, and it is expected to exceed 500 billion dollars, in 2022.
Our Institute was founded with the goal of helping Serbia win 1% of that market; but, once we learn how to do that, why not strive for 2% or even 3%? Whoever wishes to join us in this effort will have to be really good in the STEM subjects, science, technology, engineering, and math!“
The Physics Camp attracts kids who have a specific interest in physics and natural sciences, and in the past decade over 1,400 students have spent their winter holidays at this program.
The 15th Winter Camp was held from January 16 to 23, 2022. Additional information may be found here.
Dr. Branislav Kisačanin also conducted lectures at the fourth Winter School of Physics in Trebinje, which you may read about by clicking here.
