The Science and Technology Park Novi Sad was opened today, and contracts were handed to the first twenty institutes, significant corporations, and start-ups that will locate there.
The Institute for Artificial Intelligence Research and Development of Serbia will be one of the first tenants of the Science and Technology Park Novi Sad.
"Our research fields are in the domain of AI, and specifically here in Novi Sad, we will tackle themes in order to facilitate interaction between the local economy and corporations such as Continental, 3Lateral, and others. We have a great Advisory Board and fifteen mentors of scientists who have given us projects to work on with our researchers," says Dr. Dubravko Ćulibrk, director of the Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia.
Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, together with Novi Sad Mayor Miloš Vučević and Prime Minister of Provincial Government Igor Mirović, gave out contracts to institutes, significant corporations, and startups. Then Brnabić emphasized that Vojvodina's largest city today has one of the top scientific and technology parks not only in Serbia, but also in Southeast Europe.
"It's such a little ecosystem that works as a form of knowledge factory," Brnabić continued.
The Science and Technology Park Novi Sad, which is 30000 square meters in size, was completed earlier this year. The facility is used by 3,000 students from the Faculty of Technical Sciences, who already have 40 modern laboratories at their disposal. Beginning today, various research organizations employing over a thousand scientists will be linked with students and significant corporations in this technological park.
