The Republic of Serbia's first National Platform for Artificial Intelligence was established today at the State Data Center in Kragujevac.
On that occasion, the Institute for Artificial Intelligence, the Office for IT and Electronic Administration, representatives from science and technology parks, the Institute for Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering, and the Mihajlo Pupin Institute signed agreements on the use of the National Platform.
The signing was attended by the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, and the US Ambassador to Serbia, Anthony Godfrey.
The National AI platform is the most recent generation of high-performance Nvidia supercomputers, capable of processing massive amounts of data in a short period of time.
The National Platform for Artificial Intelligence will be available to the state and local self-government, as well as universities, science and technology parks, and startup companies, and the goal of the State Data Center in Kragujevac will be to safely store knowledge and real-world data of citizens, business sector, state, local self-government, and commercial users.
All data from Serbian healthcare institutions will be united thanks to the National AI Platform, and changes in the environment that will occur over the next decade will be monitored, but this platform is also crucial for Serbian agriculture.
This initiative helps to the enhancement of public administration's work, speeds up procedures, and makes residents' and the business sector's everyday lives easier.
Serbia is therefore one of the 26 countries with a National Platform for Artificial Intelligence, and one of the few with its own Institute for Artificial Intelligence Research and Development.
