On June 24, the Institute for Artificial Intelligence Research and Development of Serbia signed an agreement with the Office for Information Technologies and eGovernment on the use of the National Platform for Artificial Intelligence.
The National Platform for Artificial Intelligence is located in the State Data Center in Belgrade, which maintains and stores the key information and communication infrastructure of the Republic of Serbia, and which is the most modern institution of its kind in the region.
The aim of signing this agreement is to improve and expand the technology of AI in the Republic of Serbia, to provide support to scientific research in the field of AI, and to apply its results in the industry in the Republic of Serbia.
Dr. Dubravko Ćulibrk, director of the Institute for Artificial Intelligence Research and Development of Serbia, expressed his satisfaction with the signing of the agreement because researchers from the Institute will "gain access to valuable computer resources needed for their work."
The Director of the Office for Information Technologies and eGovernment, Dr. Mihailo Jovanović, expressed the expectation that the Institute will "significantly assist the Office in the application and use of AI in the further development of eGovernment services". Dr. Jovanović emphasized that Serbia is one of the few countries in the world that has adopted the Strategy for the Development of AI, with an action plan for implementation.
